From his days playing Adray Baseball at Ford Woods, to the years he spent in the classroom at Fordson High School, Henry Ford College, and the University of Michigan and now the dining rooms of Henry Ford Village, Kamel has always called Dearborn home. To Kamel, the City of Dearborn is not just a city, it’s a community, it’s a HOME and the citizens are not residents, they are his FAMILY.
Kamel still calls Dearborn his home where he lives with his wife Mariam of 12 years and 3 children. Mariam is a long-time Dearborn educator and their children attend Dearborn Public Schools.
In the Spring and Summer, Kamel coaches for Dearborn Baseball, teaching the youth of the city not only the game of baseball but values to live by; Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Hard work and Dedication. Those same values that Kamel has lived his life by and same values he will lead and represent by.
Kamel loves Dearborn and wants to make it a place for families to live, work and grow. Kamel believes Dearborn is ONE, no matter East, South or West Dearborn there is ONE Dearborn and as a council member Kamel will lead by that principle. Kamel wants to create a safe and healthy community for all citizens from the younger generation to our senior citizens
